One American spends $100 million of own money in 2012 presidential race

"In June, Sheldon Adelson, a billionaire casino owner, and his wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson, gave $10 million to Restore Our Future, a super PAC backing Mitt Romney, according to people with knowledge of the contribution. By that point, all told, they had given at least $35 million to pro-Republican super PACs during the 2012 campaign; Mr. Adelson told Forbes magazine that he intended to spend $100 million of his own money by the end of the race."
