Village-level dairy coops in India generate more jobs than IT industry


"In just three decades, for example, 12.3 million rural Indians, mostly women, many landless, have created a network of 100,000 village-level dairy coops – generating many times the number jobs the hi-tech information industry boasts. Although this network of cooperatives supply over a fifth of the country’s total milk supply, few beyond India have heard of them.
